AUTHOR INSTRUCTIONS FOR
PROCESS AND CONTROL OPTIMIZATION IN FERROUS AND NON-FERROUS INDUSTRY

This is related to the abstract(s) you have submitted to "Process Control and Optimization in Ferrous and non-Ferrous Industry", symposium / MS&T 2003, Chicago, Il, USA, November 9-12, 2003, which incorporates the "Process Modeling and Computer Applications".

The manuscripts of this symposium will be published in the following book that will be available for sale at the meeting:

MODELING, CONTROL AND OPTIMIZATION IN NONFERROUS AND FERROUS INDUSTRY
Editors: Florian Kongoli, Brian Thomas and Krich Sawamiphakdi

You need to prepare the camera-ready manuscripts according to the following modalities:

a) A maximum length of 16 pages per manuscript.

b) The limit date for the submission of manuscript is July 15, 2003

c) You need to submit by that date by e-mail to me at FKongoli@FLOGEN.COM

  1. a Word OR LaTeX file AND
  2. a PDF file of your manuscript.

d) The files should be named according to the Family name of the first author. For example, if John SMITH is the first author of a paper with 3 authors the name of the files should be "smith.doc AND smith.pdf

e) You need to send by mail, by July 15,

  1. HARD COPY of the manuscript AND
  2. the signed COPYRIGHT Form (MS&T_CopyrightForm.pdf) to the following address:

    Florian KONGOLIFLOGEN
    Technologies Inc.
    Administration Address:
    5757 Decelles Ave. Suite 511
    Montreal, Quebec, Canada H3S 2C3
    Tel: +1-514-344-8786 ext. 220
    Fax: +1-514-344-0361

f) You need to prepare the manuscript according to the information and templates below. The templates are very easy to be used and facilitate a lot the writing of the manuscripts according to the formatting requests.

Please review all this material prior to submitting your paper. As you know the final acceptance of the manuscript will depend on

  1. the scientific quality of your contribution
  2. the respect of the formatting requests and the preparation guide
  3. the submission deadline
  4. quality of the language. Those authors whose English is not their primary language are strongly advised to correct their manuscript to an English speaking person. This would avoid the return of the paper for correction due to the quality of the language. This is not good for you as well as the editors.
  5. obligatory oral presentation at the symposium by you or your co-author(s) or an assigned person.

Please feel free to contact me for anything you need related to the scientific content of the manuscript, page limit, deadline, language etc. at FKongoli@FLOGEN.COM or by phone and fax (Tel:+1-514-344-8786 ext.220/ Fax:+1-514-344-0361).

However if you have any technical question regarding the templates and formatting, please contact Stephen J. Kendall /Book Publishing Coordinator of TMS (Tel: 724-776-9000 ext. 219 Fax: 724-776-3770 E-mail: skendal@tms.org)

We have received a considerable number of abstracts and count on your timely and professional behavior in order make this symposium a high quality one.

Looking forward to meeting you in Chicago

Best Regards
Florian KONGOLI
Chair of the symposium and Vice Chair of Pyrometallurgy Committee of TMS
